Prof. (Dr.). Jaimini Bhagawati

Dr. Bhagwati was educated at St. Stephen’s College, Tufts University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is also currently chairman of the Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) Alternatives and board member of IDFC’s holding company. He was India’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and India’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg. He has held senior positions in the Ministry of External Affairs.

Dr. Bhagwati was Joint Secretary (Capital Markets, Pension Reforms and External Commercial Borrowings) in the Ministry of Finance (MoF). During his tenure in MoF he was responsible for improving market integrity and implementing best practices in Indian bond, equity and derivatives’ markets and the pensions sector. He has worked for eleven years in Washington DC in the World Bank’s Treasury. His responsibilities at the World Bank included bond funding, derivatives transactions and asset-liability management. Dr. Bhagwati has authored research publications in ICRIER, at the World Bank and in several books. He is an occasional columnist in Business Standard (an Indian daily newspaper).


Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary

Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary became an IPS officer of the 1967 batch was allotted the Kerala cadre. He worked on important assignments in Kerala and early on in his career in 1981-82 was commissioner of police of the city of Cochin. Later he held the offices of Inspector General of Police and chief of Crime Branch CID and lastly Director general of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Apart from Kerala, Mr. Mooshahary has occupied several distinguished posts. He was in the Cabinet Secretariat and had served in the state of Assam, including at a later point in his career in this province's police force. He served in the federal Central Reserve Police Force as Deputy Inspector general and Inspector General during the late eighties and early nineties during which period he served in the states of Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. He was appointed as Director General of the elite National Security Guards (NSG) in February 2002.

He headed the NSG for nearly three years before being shifted as Director General of the BSF, one of the largest standing paramilitary border guarding forces in the world, in 2005. He was the first IPS officer from northeast India to be appointed as the Director-General of the BSF, a position he held till his retirement from active service in February 2006. Mr. Mooshahary was awarded with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. He has also served in the CRPF, besides the state police force of Assam and has done a commendable job in combating terrorism, and contributing to the Security of the Republic of India.

In March 2006, Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary was appointed by the Governor of Assam as the first Chief Information Commissioner of the State under the Right to Information Actenacted by the Parliament of India, a legislation aimed at bringing transparency in Government. He was instrumental in operationalising the legislation and setting in motion the legal processes of redressal mandated therein and held this position up to his elevation to Governorship of Meghalaya State by the President of India for a 5-year term in 2008.

Dr. Rohini Kumar Baruah

Dr. Rohini Kumar Baruah is a retired Indian Administrative Service Officer, a prolific writer and a highly respected intellectual of Assam and the Northeast-India. Dr. Baruah is the Vice chairman for ‘We for Justice’ as well as members of several reforms committee, constituted by the Government of Assam and Union Government. Dr. Baruah a regular columnist in English and Assamese dailies. 


Dr. Dharanidhar Mali

Dr. Dharanidhar Mali is the Founder Director of the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship. Dr. Mali led entrepreneurship education in the Northeast Region and transforming the small and medium industries sector with more than 50 years of his professional services. Dr. Mali is a highly respected Economist of the country and an author of many books on entrepreneurship.

Indrani Rai Medhi

Ms. Rai Medhi is a notable writer, feature writer and essayist. She has been writing in the daily paper since her first year in school, contributing short stories, middles and highlights in The Sentinel all the time. On December 1989, she joined The Assam Tribune as the primary woman representative in the publication office as a sub-editorial manager, working in the highlights area. Her work has included revealing and composing highlights on craftsmanship, writing, school issues, and women's activist issues, among others. She has likewise been the organizer VP of North East Writers' Forum and assumed a dynamic part in different abstract exercises. She has had a long innings on TV, meeting different identities, tying down a six section artistic program, participating in bunch dialogs, a five scene English serial in view of her short stories has been as of late endorsed by PPC, Doordarshan, Guwahati. She has been herself met by the Doordarshan, Big FM etc. 



Sankar Ray

Sankar Ray is a graduate in the Mechanical Engineering from BPUT Odisha. Envisioning towards progressive nation development, he has been guiding light for many civil services aspirants and has contributed to their success stories. An avid writer in the field of Economics, Polity, Governance, Internal Security, India’s Foreign Policy and International Relations, he has also shared space as co-author of two editions of the book “DEVELOPMENT OF NORTHEAST INDIA-BEYOND BOOTSTRAPS”, along with many policy documents. He teaches Political Science & International Relations and Economics.

Aashay Purandare

Aashay Purande is a former civil service aspirant who went through Civil Service Preparation and qualified in respective stages. He is a graduate/post graduate from the Mumbai University. Aashay has been leading the I-SAP of Northeast-IAS as an academic expert. He is an empanelled panellist (Civil Services Expert) in Interview boards set up by the Higher Education Department, Government of Maharashtra for UPSC. 


Ayush Babu

Ayush Babu is a Graduate in English from the Patna University and having more than 5 years of experiences in civil service examination. He is an expert in subjects of Indian History, Indian Polity, Indian economy, ethics, IR and current affairs. 


Subhash Singh Thakur

Subhash is a seasoned UPSC Civil Service Examination expert with more than 10 years of experiences. Subhash has been guiding civil service aspirants in Delhi through interactive classes and have a unique sense of delivery of lectures which makes students learn the content in the class itself. His focus is more on conceptual clarity which is the need of the UPSC-CSE. Prior to joining the Northeast-IAS, Subhash was associated with institutes such as  Dhyeya IAS , Elite IAS and Civil Service Chronicle. Amia R Biswal

Amia is a senior faculty in the North-East Institute of Advanced Studies (NE-IAS). Amia has over 10 years of professional experience in UPSC CSE with institutions like Vajiram and Ravi. He is a MA in Sociology

Anil Kumar Singh

Anil is a post-graduate in Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Anil qualified National Eligibility Test with History as a subject and subsequently went through civil services preparation and qualified in respective stages. He has been associated with Roots Academy and Vision IAS as a subject expert and faculty in History.  In Northeast-IAS, Anil is leading the History for UPSC Prelim cum Main aspirants. 

Manish Kumar Singh

Manish is faculty in the Northeast-IAS and dealing with Political Sciences and IR.  He has more than 5 years experiences in the UPSC civil service pre-examination training and before joining the Northeast-IAS, Manish cleared the UPSC Prelims cum Mains. 

Dr. Rashmirekha Sarma 

Rashmirekha is a PhD from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. Prior to join NE-IAS, she was associated with Archaeological Survey of India. Being an experienced researcher in the field of intangible and tangible cultural heritage of Northeast India especially Arunachal Pradesh, she has written many articles in national and international journals, book chapters. In Northeast-IAS, Rashmirekha is leading the Research and Development unit. 

Prakash Seth

Prakash is an expert in Sociology and Ph.D. on Social Transformation from the University of Rajasthan. Prakash has more than 10 years’ hands experiences in the UPSC civil service preparation and cleared UPSC-mains more than two times. Prakash is leading the sociology department of the Northeast-IAS.

Prem Prakash

Prem is faculty in the Northeast-IAS and dealing with Geography, current affairs, science and environment. He did his B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Prem has more than 6 years experiences in the UPSC civil service pre-examination training and before joining the Northeast-IAS, Prem cleared the UPSC Prelims cum Mains. 

Ananya Bhattacharjee

Ananya is a Post Graduate in Mass Communication & Journalism and graduated in economics from Gauhati University. Ananya has over seven years of experience as a Content Writer and Developer. Ananya is a key member of the Research and Development unit of the Northeast-IAS and leading in developing current affairs magazine of the Institute. 

Ajit Kumar Neog

Dr. Ajit is a former civil servant and a nationally acclaimed economist. He is a Post graduate from Delhi School of Economics, Postgraduate Diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and Cambridge University and Ph.D from Gauhati University. Dr. Ajit is leading and guiding the SAP and I-SAP programs of Northeast-IAS. 

Keshav Das

Keshav is the founder Director of the North-East Institute of Advanced Studies (NE-IAS). Keshav has over 15 years of professional experience with institutions including Netherlands Development Organisation, Global Green Growth Institute, UNDP. In Northeast-IAS, Keshav teaches Environment and Ecology and leading the overall management of the institution. Keshav holds a masters in rural management from North Eastern Hill University, India.  He also holds post graduate diploma and certificates in Advanced Accounting and Natural Resource management from University of California, San Diego and Wageningen UR.
